And just like that, the world shifts and we must shift with it. It’s uncertain. Uncomfortable. Epic. Mere weeks ago, a global pandemic was unimaginable. But here we are a few weeks in to our indefinite sentence to stay-at-home orders and social distancing. March 2020 is now hailed as the month that would not end, and April is set to challenge that title. Yes, things are hard.
And yet, there’s still so much good in the world and it occurred to me that we ought to celebrate it. Shout it from the rooftops. Or at least on social media. I thought of making a gratitude post. Then I thought of the November trend when daily gratitude posts abound with great discipline and intention.
We can’t wait until November. We need the happy right now. We need the joy. We need the comfort, the hope, the love. We need the reality check. If ever there was a time to make a gratitude list, it’s now. And it will uplift us all.
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9
